Web Apps
While we wait for new apps to come in on the Catalog, we though we’d share a little secret with our loyal readers: Web Apps. Thousands of functional, well-designed Web Apps are ready to be used on the Palm Pre’s fast web browser. Some of them are so slick that once you have a shortcut on your launcher to the web app, you won’t be able to tell that you aren’t working on a native app. These were originally designed for the iPhone, but work perfectly on your Palm Pre.
Point your Palm Pre browser to http://app.getleaflets.com
And for an excellent selection of games, to: http://www.playscreen.com/palmpre

These are formatted perfectly for the Pre’s browser, and if you’re on a good connection, there’s no noticeable lag at all. The one problem is persistence of data. As we wait for the Catalog to fill in more nicely, these will act as a good stopgap.
We’re always looking out to fulfill your Palm Pre Apps needs – do subscribe to our RSS feed for the latest Palm Pre Apps.

I have been waiting for this blog to appear. I have had a review blog on the Pre since February (long wait) and now that it is out it is good to have somewhere to point people for applications. Site looks great, clean, with the short sweet reviews. I have put up a link from my page. Email me if you want to chat.
Well I thought that it would be great to have a site that I can link to that will have games so I wouldn’t have to load them (or wait for them for that matter) into my Pre – unfortunately when I point my browser to the link above, my Pre opens 20, exactly 20 cards with blank pages, then stops and tells me it can’t open any more. I assume they are on the web – but as you said, the browser is so fast and connected to WiFi you can hardly tell the difference between local and web – I don’t know what I’m seeing. Wish they would work…
I only got this site to open once and when it opened many of the apps went to nowhere. When I tried to open it again…nothing but white. Frustrating. Apps to the Pre seem to be very slow.
