The application pulls in conversations with anyone on your contact list irrespective of whether the conversation was on Email, SMS, or IM. You can see conversations by date with any one of your contacts. Even better, it allows you to continue a conversation using SMS which started off originally in IM. And it does this seamlessly – no need to switch applications.

Messaging also has a ubiquitous presence in other applications, such as in your Email and Contacts apps. You can see someone’s IM status from within these other applications and start a conversation right from there without first having to switch applications.
