Shortcovers is an Ebook reader and Ebook marketplace app for the Palm Pre. It carries thousands of books, chapters, articles, and magazines with excerpts available for each as well as the ability to buy from within the application. You can also buy individual chapters for certain books. There are many classics available for free at the moment within the marketplace. Pricing is actually very reasonable, and the chapter offers are particularly useful for certain technical books. Navigation and reading is on par with other smartphones (but nothing like the Kindle). 

You can sort by featured, popular, rating, and price. You can also simply search the marketplace for titles and authors. The one thing I’d like to see in the next version is the ability to search for words within a book or article. In all other respects, this is a well thought out application that is very easy to use and particularly useful for short, bite-sized reads while flying or traveling the subway.
