P2GoogleVoice is another Google Voice client for the Palm Pre. The interface is a lot more sparse compared to the previously reviewed gDial Pro app, but this app does offer the major functionality that comes with a Google Voice account. Like with gDial Pro, you’ll need a Google Voice account to use this application. You can send and receive text messages, as well as make and receive phone calls through your GV account with this app. The interface throws up the option of dialing or sending a message through the dialer or your address book.

There’s no way to set a default action (always pick address book) for any new action, so this can get quite frustrating if you want to move around the app quickly. There’s a useful help module that guides a new user through the basic functionality. The interface is quite unintuitive so this help module is definitely a big help. The functionality and the interface is a subset of the gDial Pro application on the Palm Pre. This app is probably a useful fall-back option in case gDial Pro becomes expensive in the future, but in and of itself, P2GoogleVoice will not add much to your Pre experience.
