SplashID

The SplashID Palm Pre app is a utility to store private data such as passwords, credit card numbers, and banking details. It acts as a secure password manager and this application will prompt you for a master password when you want to open it on your Pre. The app allows you to set various fields that are searchable and identifiable by you, and you can decide whether you want each field to be visible or not. So you can mask whatever fields you like, and there are more than one for each entry. The app offers search-as-you-type.

The first time I launched the app, it froze for a few seconds before it allowed me to move forward – I wasn’t able to reproduce this even after uninstalling and installing it again so it’s probably no big deal. The app is still in its early stages in other respects as well. There is little ability to customize search parameters for instance – the search will always only parse the first of the many fields. There’s really no way to export your information from the Pre, so backups are out of the question for now. Perhaps an update will provide this much-needed functionality.

I have installed and uninstalled this three times and nothing happens, except it seems to ‘load’ twice, but leaving a completely blank screen. I’ve let it sit for five-ten minutes and nothing happens, so I assume there’s something wrong. All the other apps I’ve loaded seem to run fine (Pre is less than two weeks old, FWIW).

I installed this application upon receiving my Pre for Father’s Day and absolutely love it. I keep all of my passwords and other important number in it. If you have to keep track of a lot of passwords, combinations or other numbers; this is the application for you.

Same as Geoff and JMM, except I only downloaded once.

I’ve been using SpashID for a long time with the PalmOS. Does anyone know if the database can be migrated to the new WebOS version? I probably have over 1000+ entries in mine.

I’ve had this application in the past on my centro and I have all of my data on my computer. I’m wondering if this app is only on the pre and whether or not it can by synced with my desktop application?
