One of the newer breeds of paid apps on the Palm App Catalog, Wobble Words is a word search game that pulls together bits of gameplay from other timeless games to offer an interesting and engaging application on the Palm Pre. The basic premise is to find as many words as possible against the clock. You form words by drawing gestures on a four-letter by four-letter grid. As you find words, new letters show up. Roughly speaking, you get more points for bigger words, but there’s finer grained points to be had since each letter has a specific number of points associated with it.

The scoring system is very well-designed, with intermittent “blank” letters that can play the role of any and all letters that complete a word. This means one or two “blanks” can push your score very high pretty quickly. You can also sacrifice points to refresh the grid completely to have another go if you’re drawing a blank on the current one. The interface and look-and-feel is very polished and customizable. Most aspects of the game are configurable, including sound, “shake to clear” and the theme. Overall, this is an excellent game for the Palm Pre – engaging, interesting, and easy on the eyes.
