Mileage Monitor (update)

Note: We reviewed Mileage Monitor positively earlier (July 26), we are now bringing it to the front since it’s been released in the App Catalog.

Mileage Monitor is one of a slew of Palm Pre Apps released recently and is definitely one of the more useful new apps. As the name suggests, this app helps you track the mileage you’re getting from your vehicle. If you already have existing data, you can import it via a CSV file. You’ll begin using the app by setting up a vehicle name and making a note of your odometer reading the next time you fill up your tank. The main screen is a summary view which shows the lifetime mileage and mileage since your last fill up. At fillups you simply note the odometer reading, the price, and how much gas you’re pumping in on that date.

There’s plenty of attention to detail in this app. The preferences section allows you to set units and currency symbols. You can see a list of tank fillups sorted by the odometer reading and each entry is editable in case you want to correct an error. Adding a tank is easy and can easily be done while you’re waiting around as your vehicle’s tank is filling up. I would have really liked the ability to export the data, but we’ll probably have to wait for an update to see that feature. A very useful, functional, and easy-to-use app that will leave both the price and environmentally conscious Palm Pre users very happy indeed.

    Too bad that selection of miles vs. kilometers is program global rather than a setting for each vehicle. Well, too bad for me, anyway. ;-)

    great app. only thing that would make it greater would be to be able to track your miles from specified dates. this would be good for tracking business miles, etc…

    I love this app. I cant tell you what a hassle it is for me to keep up with my mileage on a weekly basis. This takes the pen and paper out of my hand and simplifies the task! Not only that, the app creator went a step forward and added some aspects to take it even a stop further. GREAT APP!

    I would also like to see an option to alert you when it is time for an oil change or tire rotation.

    Hi,
    I’m a german Pre user and i had installes Mileage Monitor on my Pre. It’s a great App. But now I’ve got a new Pre and I’ve updated it to WebOs 1.3.1
    Noe the App is no longer available in the App Cataloge.
    Can you halp me to get it once more.
