I really like apps that do one thing and do it well. Especially in light of the Pre’s ability to run multiple apps at once, there’s less and less need for a jack-of-all trades application. The Goodfood Palm Pre app by Goodrec is a great example of this. It helps you find nearby food joints that suit your tastes and come recommended by others like you. It hooks up to the popular social networking website and pulls in restaurant recommendations based on location, ratings, and price.
The default functionality immediately pulls up eateries nearby to your current location. You can then drill down based on rating, price, and distance. You can also see photographs taken by other diners in specific restaurants. This really helps in understanding portion sizes, presentation, and the quality of the establishment. Most diners also leave comments and reviews which are all available through the application. Mapping is built right in. The interface is very clean and elegant – this is a very polished and useful Palm Pre application.

it is a great app! Used it quite a bit this weekend in Atlanta. Anyone know if/how you can zoom out to get a broader view?
I find it quite useful as well. However, is the app free or does it cost some. I find it hard to imagine that anything is free these days.
How do you download the Palm Pre Apps listed on this site?
Glenn, along with all the pre-installed apps on your Pre (such as the Browser), you’ll find an app called the “App Catalog” with a sort of handbag logo with “Palm” written across it. Tap on that to launch it, and you’ll see all the apps listed there. You can download them from there.
my map suddenly stopped being loaded. The gps icon and the pins are loaded on a blank background. Anyone else have this problem?
Same issue here… Now app just loads a blank screen… No options or prefs available.
