Contacts on the Palm Pre
Managing contacts on the Palm Pre is a breeze. You can sync with your Google, Facebook, or Exchange account. The Pre automatically pulls together all profile details of an individual when you’re looking up a single person. If two separate contacts exists for the same person, you can either remove one or have the profiles merge (which is what you probably want to do). You can also set one as a primary profile.

Some caveats: There’s no way to be selective about which of your Facebook contacts or Gmail contacts get imported – if you do import them, all of them get imported. So it’s all or nothing. Otherwise this is a great contacts manager which really showcases the synergy feature of the Palm Pre.

Because I had over 1000 contacts coming from palm desktop, syncing was not able to transfer all of them. I had to transfer them to Google first and then to Pre. The price is that street addresses of all my contacts are not picked up from Sprint GPS and they are not viewed on Google site. I have them however on the Pre. Which is what they need to be.
Thought maybe that will help somebody or get somebody to give me a fix for Sprint GPS.
I have used the Treo phones for years and they have a wonderful search feature I can’t find on the Pre. In my contacts, I put key words in the notes section. Like Doctor, or Dentist etc. I can then do a search for Doctor and all contacts with Doctor in them, including notes show up. Not so apparently with the Pre. At least so far the results have been sporatic. Hopefully they will fix this.
