It uses a google maps type plugin, and you just click the points on the arial map of the course for the tee box, front, middle, and back of green, and up to 4 other points per hole, ie. bunker, trees etc. The course is then available for download directly on the phone through the golfpinfinder app. It will also keep track of your score, which you can then email to yourself, digital score card, way cool. As far as marking each shot, their is a button for your starting spot, then you hit it again once you reach your ball, and it will tell you how far the last shot went. Also, there is a club database where you manually input your ranges for each club, ie. 7 iron, min 140yards max 150yards etc. Then when your on the course you will then see a screen like the screen shot above telling you which club falls in that range at your current distance from the green, pretty nice.
