Dot Game is a simple and enjoyable Palm Pre app where players take turns to fill-in boxes in a grid. The player with the most number of boxes at the end is the winner. This app doesn’t offer games over the network but you can play with a computer opponent – which is pretty good and comes with three levels of difficulty. The design is sensible and simple and it’s clear that some attention has been paid in developing the game. Dot Game comes with three nice themes, including a “crayon” version that really imitates the paper-and-pencil game of yore.
There’s also an option to require a box, and the ability to vary the size of the grid. The computer opponent is quite good and with the large grid option, you may find yourself playing for far longer than expected. Overall, this a simple and well-designed Palm Pre app.
