The AP News Palm Pre app, like its siblings on other smartphones, is an excellent News app that helps you stay current with local, national, and international News. The application serves up multiple news feed from AP and other wire services into one clean, easy-to-use interface. Stories come with user-ratings and related photos. About 10% of the screen is given up to advertising near the top, just below the menu bar. You can customize the home screen of the app to your liking from several different categories. 

You can search the AP news service right from within the app. The search feature is available with a single tap from every screen on the app and is reasonably quick and responsive. I would have liked to see the ability to search within a given news story, but that functionality is not offered yet. The breadth of member services offering feeds into this app easily makes this app more useful than the New York Times app previously reviewed. This is a true News junkie’s app.
